Period: Tang Dynasty, China, 618 to 907.

Size: This beautiful statue is approximately 16" height and 16" in length. The custom base is about 7 3/4" wide and 16" length

Condition: Excellent, original legs with minor expert repair, color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. The base that this horse stands on has been replaced.

Description: This is an amazing Tang Dynasty tomb pottery prancing horse. This horse is very masculine with beautiful detailed mane, tail, hoofs and saddle. The saddle is detachable. It's sculpted in a very animated prancing and walking pose. It's even more breath taking in person.
