A Charming Staffordshire Cup & Saucer, c.1820
95 / $159

Bone china. White ground. A London shape cup and saucer, decorated with a charming purple, bat printed scene of a young boy resting on a grassy knoll, with his dog by his side and a view of a town in the distance. Both pieces are trimmed with purple lustre lines. The cup stands 2 1/2 inches high and measures 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The saucer bears the hand-written pattern number, 3(?)9, in purple. The decoration on both cup and saucer is in excellent, original, unworn condition. There is a short, hairline crack to the rim of the cup. Please Note: the purchase price includes the cost of packing and postage via Royal Mail International Signed For service.
