The globular form is softly painted in greens, pinks and blues. The verso is signed “Margaret H.” There are no other identifiers on the jar, however many of these pieces are decorated by American women from blanks that were produced in France.

The cylindrical form is hand painted with a soft green ground and painted with a field of daisies and foliage. The jar is surmounted by a conforming domed lid in the same green and centered by a scrolling handle in gold. The bottom of the jar is marked “T&V, Limoges, FRANCE” and has a hole to assist in removing the jam jar from the container.

The life size parrot is curiously perched on a woody stump. The bird is glazed in jewel tone colors which are in contrast to the white base with applied foliage and flowers in greens, reds, purples and pinks.

Condition: Very Good, small losses to flowers and ivy and lacking leaf or element on base.
The baluster form in a cobalt blue glaze is decorated with an oval reserve with a courting scene of a young couple in 18th century garb framed with gilt scrolling foliate “C” scrolls and stylized bouquets. The scene is signed. The porcelain body is set in a bronze base marked “France.”
