The painting depicting the turbulent waters off the pier of St. Andrews Harbor is reminiscent of many of Young’s paintings. This painting captures the daily life of the working class. Artist signature is on the lower right side and dated 1902. Very little is known of this artist, although he painted mostly in oils, depicting sea and landscapes. Young exhibited at the Royal Academy. Provenance, Vixseboxse Gallery, Cleveland, Ohio.
