Sterling Silver “Jelly Belly” Rooster Pin, Trifari
This is a “Jelly Belly” style pin designed by Alfred Phillippe Trifari in February 1944. The exact date can be traced by the patent number stamped on the back of the pin (137324). The rooster was one of the most popular “jelly belly” designs made, and was reproduced many times throughout the years from Trifari. The belly of the rooster is clear lucite, the metal is sterling silver with a gold patina. The back of the pin has three markings. There is a “Trifari” mark with a crown shape over the “T” located on the top of the rooster’s head, a “sterling” mark on the top tail feather, and a mark that reads “DESIPATINO 137324” at the center of the tail feathers. There are three rhinestones missing on the head of the rooster, and a red rhinestone that was originally placed in the eye of the rooster is missing as well. Not only is this piece very collectable, it is cute as can be!

Size: 2 ½ “ high by 2” wide

Condition: Good, but tarnished and there are a few rhinestones missing

Price: 125.00
