This very unique hand carved mahogany chair features a seat of rush caining. The work has a simple form; the only stylization resides on the chair back. The horizontal splat shows detail of fanning scrolls. The crested rail shows three inlayed star medallions of ebony and ivory. The two rear legs are turned. The two front legs are decorated in a simple cylindrical urn shape. A rare find!
