A Ceremonial Blanket, Uzbekistan, Mid 20th Century
A Ceremonial Blanket, Uzbekistan, Mid 20th Century

Almost like a patch work quilt. This piece is made up of various fabric remnants in squares that are stitched together to create an open work blanket. The blanket was used in a marriage ceremony and draped the animal the bridegroom used in their procession. The year 1960 is embroidered on the frame of the blanket. This wall hanging, adds color to a bedroom or can be used as a window treatment. These are wonderful ways to utilize this textile on a daily basis.

Condition: Excellent
