A Hand Painted Plaque, after Raphael’s Madonna della seggiola, circa 1900
The round plaque is beautifully painted in vivid colors of red, yellow, royal blue and green depicting Madonna embracing the child, Christ with the young John the Baptist. The image is housed in an ornate gilded Rocco style frame. The verso is marked with a stamp “Firenze”, a paper label “150R/1287” and some items written with pencil in Italian. Condition: Plaque excellent to very good, two small areas by Madonna’s eye and above the forehead of John the Baptist that appear as glue or residue. Frame repaired on one scrolling branch and a small loss to two others. Size: Frame 14” high, 13” wide; Plaque 6” diameter $1,500.00 |
