An Unusual Champlevé and Dore Mantle Clock, French, circa 1900
The oval cap is trimmed with enameled bands in a palmette motif over a conforming body with curved and beveled glass panels. The pronounced base has a repeating enameled band and the last step is trimmed with a rope twist molding. The interior is fitted with a time piece with corresponding decoration. The face is enameled in the same shades of blue and creamy white and is marked “Le Roy, Paris”. The verso is marked “Made in France, 22460, 4, 11.” The treasure is the hand painted ivory portrait of a lady that centers the pendulum. The portrait is signed “Lamy.” This time piece is probably from Le Roy et Fils. Size: 12” high, 8 Ľ” wide, 7” deep Condition: Appears in Fine Condition, lacking key $3,500.00 |
