Excellent and large vintage silver and amethyst ring with a beautiful sculpted biomorphic modernist design. Circa 1960 or 1970. Marked STER and also marked with intials LIR. With a round bezel set amethyst cabochon, and with a worked textured finish, with decorative oxidation. It weighs 13 grams. Big statement rings are a very significant current fashion trend. From a Philadelphia estate. Ring size 5 3/4. Nice size -- the top is 1 1/8 inches long by 7/8 inch wide. Excellent condition. The color of the stone is very slightly warmer than the photos depict.
