Fabulous early silver necklace with round and baguette paste stones, and a huge cut glass center pendant framed by paste stones. 1900 - 1920. Possibly French. Not marked but tests positive for sterling silver. With a dainty slide clasp also set with stones. The square link side chain is made to fall slightly to the sides so the stones on the chain are visible from either
side. From a Philadelphia estate.
A classic collectible Art Deco piece, and currently perfectly of the moment as well. The fashion world is in the midst of a major Art Deco revival, with top houses such as Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, and Gucci showing jewelry and accessories with a glamorous graphic moderne edge.
15 1/4 inches wearable length. The pendant is 1 3/8 inches long and 1 1/8 inches wide. Excellent condition. Metal is perfectly silver in color; pinkish tones are reflection. A few of the stones are a bit aged, but not yellowed. Photos enlarged to show detail.
