A fabulous antique garnet five strand beaded necklace with a garnet decorated slide clasp. Circa 1900, from a Philadelphia estate, and I also have listed a garnet
hinged bangle from this same estate. The metal tests positive for 9KT gold with jeweler's acid. The large stones in the clasp are each about 5 mm in
diameter, and the tiny stones are 2 mm. The garnet beads are each about 4 mm in diameter. Substantial at 112 grams; I counted 497 beads. Very
wearable, for day or evening. One could wear this piece every day. The clasp can be worn in the center, to the side, or at the back, for a more casual
Wearable length is 15 1/2 inches. The strands drop just over 1 inch wide and the clasp is 1 1/8 inches wide. Excellent condition. Photos
