In the 1960s and 1970s, Ciner specialized in costume jewelry inspired by the enameled gold and jeweled figural animal designs of the fine jewelry maker David Webb (these days Roberto Cavalli is the contemporary master of the costume version of this look). This piece is circa 1965. Marked CINER. Goldtone metal with translucent cognac color enameling and black glass cabochon stones, with colorless rhinestones. Slide clasp. Great size -- 7/8 inch deep at the head and 7 1/4 inches inside circumference. Inside diameters are 2 1/2 and 2 1/8 inches. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.
