Offered is a beautiful handcrafted pottery ewer (pitcher) from the studio of Anne Schiesel-Harris and Philip Harris. The piece evokes the Postmodern Pattern and Decoration style of the 1980s. The slab-built piece is decorated with “appropriated” geometric elements on the exterior and a glossy black glaze on the interior. Signed on the base and dated 2000, the piece measures 14" from side to side and stands 10" tall. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
From a California estate is a large porcelain center bowl manufactured by Rosenthal Manufactory Germany. Designed and decorated by Gilbert Portanier. It measures 10 inches in diameter and is 8.5 inches tall. Signed as shown in the photos. Portanier is a well-known French sculptor, Painter and illustrator. His works reflect the "Mediterranean delight" in exhibiting and communicating. His sheer inexhaustible imagination and narration is combined with subtle technique.
Offered is an art pottery bowl for Rosenthal by renowned French artist and ceramicist Gilbert Portanier circa 1987. The hand painted interior features glazed abstract designs and gilt accents and is signed in the center of the basin by the artist and wears the Rosenthal Mark on the base. The bowl measures 11 inches in diameter and 2 ½ inches high and is in excellent condition.
