|Offered is a limited edition Julian Stanczak silkscreen titled "Bands Twice Condensed" print ca. 1970. The silkscreen is printed on heavy stock paper and recently archivally matted and framed under glass. The image size is 24 ½ '' x 24 ½ '', with frame and mat the piece is 36” x 37”. The print is signed and numbered (148/165) in pencil. It is in excellent condition and has been inspected out of the frame with no damage noted. Julian Stanczak (Polish/American, b. 1928) received his MFA from Yale University in 1956.The Op Art movement was named for Julian Stanczak's first exhibition in New York. A student of Josef Albers and colleague of Anuszkiewicz is one of the foremost exponents of the Optical Art movement living in the United States today. The ability to set up strong interactions of color, line, form and space has afforded Julian Stanczak the power to establish internal dynamics in his two-dimensional surfaces that in turn generate the maximum of visual energy and elegance.|
