|Offered is an exceptional 1960s/1970s stoneware vessel from the Italian master ceramicist, Bruno Gambone. This Iconic Mid Century design vessel features a Volcanic glaze in a bold abstract design on one of Gambone’s most desirable forms, and measures 12 inches in height 2.25 in depth and 6 inches in width at the base. It is in excellent condition without damage or restoration and is signed Gambone Italy. Bruno Gambone is an Italian ceramicist and painter, born in Vietri sul Mare in 1936. As the son of Guido Gambone, one of the greatest ceramic artists of the 20th century, Bruno was born into the world of pottery. He began working with ceramics in his father's Florentine workshop when he was only 14. From 1963-1968 he lived in the U.S. where he engaged in painting, sculpture, film and theatre. He moved back to Italy in 1968, living in Milan until his father's death in 1969 when he returned to Florence to focus on ceramics. During his career he has produced several award winning pieces and exhibited throughout the world. He has been an active member of the ceramics community for many years and is currently the Honorary President of the National Association of Artistic and Traditional Craftmanship.|
