Working primarily in watercolor, David Barba paints realistically detailed images of brilliantly colored flowers and forests. Barba was born in New York City in 1933 and studied at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. His paintings demonstrate a mastery of watercolor - a notoriously unforgiving medium. Barba pushes the medium to its limits by working in a photo-realistic style, requiring a keen eye, steady hand, and precise application. His watercolors have been included in the National Watercolor Annual Exhibitions and exhibited extensively throughout California and in Scottsdale, Arizona at the now closed Suzanne Brown and Duley Jones Galleries. Barba's paintings are found in collections including Cornell University, the Carnegie Center, City Federal Savings and Loan Association, The Summit Group, United Trust Company and Parker and Parsley Petroleum.
