Kato Kuniya Oribe Mizusashi
A visceral experience awaits in the ragged sides of this Mentori Oribe Mizusashi by Kato Kuniya enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 19 cm diameter, 17 cm tall and in fine condition.
Born into a pottery family in Tajimi in 1940, he studied under Nineno Sakuzo and in Kyoto under Tsuji Shindo before establishing his own kiln in 1970. He has been exhibited at the Nitten National Exhibition, Gendai Nihon Togeiten Modern Ceramics Exhibition, Nihon Dento Kogeiten Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Asahi Ceramics Exhibition, and Nihon Togeiten National Pottery Exhibition as well as a host of other private and public venues both at home and abroad.
