Guest Book
Bizen Tokkuri and Guinomi by Fujimori Toshi
Sold, Thank you

A circle of raw clay dominates this Bizen Tokkuri covered in a wash of pale green natural ash glaze by Fujimori Toshi (b. 1945) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The flask is roughly 5 inches (12 cm) tall and in excellent condition. Toshi was born in Bizen in 1945, and grew up during that period when Bizen was a dying art and was one of those that stood up to bring back the tradition before all was lost. After working at the Bizen Ceramic center he apprenticed under Taihei Sei (makoto) nosuke before establishing his own kiln in 1974. Since he has been displayed and awarded at the Nihon Dento Kogei Ten (Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition) as well as the Okayama Prefectural Exhibition among others.
