| Purple glaze slides down over mustard sliding down over crackled cream, a startling combination from Uno Ninmatsu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Running down freely in front, it is channeled through deep crosshatched scores in the sides. It is unclear which of the Ninmatsu brothers made the piece, but likely is the work of the fourth son, Uno Sango (1902-1988). The vase is 9 inches (23 cm) tall, 7-1/2 (19 cm) inches wide and 3-1/2 inches (9 cm) thick. Sango was exhibited at the Teiten (Nitten) and Nihon Kogeiten among others. | |||||||||
