Lithograph from Watercolor Original by British artist, Henry Maplestone (1819-1884) which was issued in 1969 by the Alexander Turnbull Library (New Zealand). Print depicts the British military marching towards the harbour and the Maori native people in the foreground. This overviews Hawestone Street, Thorndon, Wellington (NZ) in 1849. Numbered print: 639, Serial 17 Measurements: 23x17.5 inches (framed), 17x11.25 inches (visible print) ... green matting and professionally framed in Canada. Condition: print is like new (well preserved), frame has light scratches on the wood; however, displays well. Great print of historical New Zealand during the the NZ wars. Hard to find print |
