Santo Domingo Pueblo Heart Inlay Pendant Joe Reano
Joe Reano is featured in many books and winner of many awards. This is a lovely earlier example of Joe Reano's work, done in Spiny Oyster shell with dramatic touches of lapis, a blue stone. Purchased from a jeweler/artist friend who fashioned her own blue cord and screw closure to put it on (the piece did not come with a chain or anything from which to hang it), that is included in the price. It would look just as nice on a silver chain, or silver beads, or spiny or lapis beads. A perfect pendant to dress down with denim or dress up for Fall colors. Purchased in a gallery in Manitou Springs in the mid-90s is the best my artist friend could recall. While she can buy things a dealer prices, she sprung for it full price thinking she'd keep it for herself. As so often happens, she's now cleaning out her jewelry box to sell things off for college expenses for her kids. Your gain, her loss, although she said it's been loved a lot and has "good memories to go along with to the new owner." Dimensions are: Heart is 1 5/8 inches long and 1 ¾ inches wide. Blue cord is 16 ½ inches long.
