This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Charles Jacque (1813-1894) This etching of a Shepherd is quite large, rare for this artist. It has an image size of 14 3/4X18 1/4 inches. It is clearly signed in the lower right border. It is printed on a medium weight wove type paper, light even toning. A very rare image by this important Barbizon artist.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English One of the finest portrait etchings ever created by British artist Gerald Brockhurst. "Henry Rushbury", created and printed in 1930. Rushbury, like Brockhurst studied at the Birmingham School of Art and the two later shared an apartment in London. Rushbury was an accomplished etcher as well... This is an original oil on canvas painting laid to a board, by French Marine artist Barthelemy Lauvergne. The title is Vue de Toulon, dated 1849, this painting measures 17 11/2X25 1/2 inches, signed and dated bottom right. Some light crackiing to the painting but everything is stable, the canvas has been backed upon a board no evidence of inpainting. Toulon is a city on the French Riviera and a large port on the Mediterranean coast...
