20th Century American School, "Mountain Landscape". This is a lovely impressionistic landscape painted in oil on canvas board, 8 x 10 1/4 inches, c. 1920, unsigned, "W. Dow" inscribed on the back, which appears to have been done at about the same time as the painting. This name, along with the style and palette lead us to believe this painting may be by Arthur W. Dow, but we cannot be certain. Regardless of the artist this is a beautiful landscape, painted by a very competent hand.
