19th Century American School 1800-1899 American Artists This is an original oil on tin painting of a young woman. It is apparently unsigned and so we are calling this 19th century American School. The painting measures 8X7 inches, it came to us in a period gilt frame which measures 12 1/2X11 1/2 inches. Expertly painted, this is a fine example of 19th century American portraiture.

19th Century American School 1800-1899 American Artists This is an original oil on canvas painting of an Ox and Cart coming down the road. The painting has 3 intials lower right, they seem to read: "W. ?. S." Weve been unable to make out who the artist was. We feel the painting is from the late 1890's and is most likely American in origin. The painting was expertly done. The canvas laid on board measures 19X13 inches and is in a 19th century gilt frame.

Platt Powell Ryder Open Platt Powell Ryder configuration options 1821-1896 American This is an original painting by American artist Platt Powell Ryder. This scene of the Village Market Place was painted circa 1870, signed by Ryder lower right with ANA after his name, when he was an established member of the National Art Academy. The painting is oil on board, framed underglass. Excellent condition in what appears to be the original 19th century frame...

This is an original oil on board painting by Canadian artist Albert Edward Cloutier ((1902-1965) Signed lower center, this painting has an image area of 29X35 inches. It came to us in what appears to be the original frame with the Walter Klinkhoff Gallery,Montreal, label on the back. The title of this work is: "Winter Lac Ouimet, Mont Tremblant", it is a view of the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. Albert Cloutier was a painter, commercial artist and muralist who grew up in Montreal...

Francois van Severdonck, Belgian, 1809-1889, "Sheep and Lamb in a Spring Landscape", Oil on panel, painting measures 7 x 9 3/8 inches in a 12 x 15 1/2 inch gold period frame. Signed and dated "F. Van Severdonck f. 1863" in the lower left, inscribed and signed by the artist on the reverse. A luminous painting with striking color and detail.

19th Century American, "Landscape with Waterfalls". This is a very fine Hudson River School landscape, oil on academy board, 9 3/4 x 18 3/4 inches, c. 1880s, unsigned, in an ornate period gilt frame. Although this painting is unsigned it is quite well painted, evidently by a very competent artist.

Max von Schmaedel, German, 1856-?, oil on Academy Board, Portrait of Miss Davenport, 12 x 9 inches, signed and inscribed "M. v. Schmaedel/München" lower right, period frame. The sitter is identified in a copy of a letter dated August 3, 1905, from Seth Mendell to William C. Davenport, President of The Machinists' Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, in an envelope affixed to the back of the painting. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.
