| Henry Patrick Raleigh, American, 1880-1944, "Vaudeville Act 5," Charcoal with white highlights, sight size 17 x 23 inches, c. 1910, signed l.l, framed. Raleigh was a very successful artist and illustrator; he began his career drawing for the San Francisco Bulletin newspaper, but his exceptional drawing ability later landed him jobs with Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Colliers and the Saturday Evening Post. He became on of the best known and highest paid illustrators of his time and was in high demand with many well known authors, including F. Scott Fitzgerald. | ||
