Dorsey Potter Tyson, American, 1891-1969, "Goose Boy". This colored etching by Dorsey Potter Tyson measures 5 x 4 inches. It is pencil signed and numbered with the artists stamp in the upper left corner, c. 1930. Label with artist provenance on backing. Tyson was known for his decorative, Asian influenced color etchings very much in the style of Elyse Ashe Lord. His technique of printing in color was similar to a monoprint technique; he would hand color the plate with oil based printers ink for each impression, rather than coloring in the black line etching after it was printed.
