Sir William Russell Flint, British, 1880-1969, "The Shrimper". This is a beautiful original etching by British artist Sir William Russell Flint. The image size is 9 1/2 x 4 7/8 inches, published c. 1931 in an edition of 75, numbered 'V', hand signed and numbered in ink. Sir William Russell Flint was a renowned artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He was born in Scotland and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Edinburgh, then at Heatherly's Art School in London. He was known for his fine prints and paintings, many portraying graceful female figures. He served as the president of the British Society of Painters in Watercolors for 20 years, and was knighted in 1947.
