Height: 35 cm (14 in) Width: 19 cm (7 in) This 19th century vase is painted in the rose mandarin pattern with wonderfully handpainted cartouches of people in domestic scenes surrounded by floral borders. Other artwork shows bordered depictions of birds, butterflies and flowers. Gilded foo dogs have been applied as handles and there is a pair of gilded salamanders applied to the front and back. There is a small depression on the foot-rim caused during the firing. This Canton vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is just some gilt wear on the applied figures. |
