Height: 21 cm (8.2 in) Width: 6.5 cm (2.6 in) A Continental sculpted ivory model of a lady by French sculptor, Henri Varenne (1860-1933). The solid ivory figure, titled '1830', is portrayed standing in early 19th century attire. Mounted on a black marble plinth, the shaped base is inscribed '1830' and signed 'H.Varenne' to the side. There are bronze versions of this piece available on the market. The ivory is in excellent condition, the marble base has minor nibbles. |
