This is truly one of the most magnificent Austrian Silver Gilt and Enamel Ewers we have had in our collection for several years. The ewer is hallmarked HB for Hermann Boehm or Böhm, and the Vienna, Austria hallmark “A” for pieces made after 1867. Hermann Böhm worked from about 1866 until 1922. He was known for creating magnificent enameled objects of the highest quality in the Renaissance revival style. This ewer is decorated with polychrome enameled medallions depicting scenes of neoclassical and mythological figures. The body is mounted with silver gilt bands with applied maskheads, figures and multi colored stones. The figural silver gilt handle is highlighted with enamel decoration. This is a true collector’s piece and would be magnificent in any style of home décor. Height: 22 7/8 Inches.
