Swiss Enamel, Pearl and Gold Mounted Brooch, Circa 1880. The central enamel plaque depicts the Chateau de Chillon amidst the Swiss Alps in beautiful realistic subtle hues. The gold frame is engraved and set with several pearl sections alternating with sections of enamel (minor traces of loss to enamel). The back of the brooch is enameled in a pale blue hue and signed “Chillone” for the Château de Chillon. The Château was originally inhabited by the Savoy family and today is a destination spot on the shore of Lake Léman. Height: 2 1/4 Inches. Width: 2 1/4 Inches. Dimensions of Plaque: 1 5/8 Inches X 1 1/4 Inches.
