Fabulous Gorham Martele Silver Geranium Vase 1905

This fabulous Antique .9584 Silver vase was made by the Martele Division of Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI in 1905. The vase was entirely handmade in the Geranium Pattern and was finished in 1905. The vase is documented in Larry Pristoís book, Martele Gorhamís Nouveau Art Silver, p. 363. The vase was completed in October, 1905 by Alexander MacBeth. The chasing was done by George E Germer. The vase is of a lobed amorphous shape with a rollover rim. The body is chased with Geraniums and tendril foliate and floral motifs. The vase is hallmarked on the underside of the base with Marteleís makerís mark, .9584 for the higher than sterling silver content, J/KH for the dating system used by Martele, and the retailerís mark of Chester Billings & Son, New York. This vase is of exceptional quality. It is in excellent condition and retains its original patina. Weight: 58.5 Troy Ounces. Height: 15 Inches. Diameter of rollover rim: 7 3/8 Inches.
