Victorian English Sterling Epergne by James Dixon 1894
Victorian Rococo sterling silver epergne. Made by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield in 1894. Four foliate feet surmounted by four foliate scrolls supporting four branches and central trellised canopy. Beneath canopy is large detachable basket . Four small detachable baskets on surrounding branches. Baskets have solid bottom, open weave sides, and fruiting grapevine rim. Fruiting grapevine and berry finial on canopy. A masterpiece of late Victorian silver. Excellent condition. Fully hallmarked.
