Silver-soldered compote. Made by Tiffany, ca. 1885. Dome foot, short stem, and circular bowl with curved and everted rim. Foot and rim have dense foliage and scrolls in repoussé. Well and stem unornamented. A stylistic and technical experiment that works. An unusual piece by this maker. Fully hallmarked. Excellent condition. Note: This piece is not sterling silver.
