Micromosaic and 18 kt gold bar brooch. Made in Italy, C 1875. Two vertical ovals and 2 horizontal ovals, each with beetle on white ground. Beetles have highlights (foil?). Also, 2 trefoils and 1 circle with polychrome ornament on blue ground. A striking design that incorporates mid-19th-century Gothic motifs. Excellent condition. On silver mount. No missing tesserae. Length: 3 ½ in. 1038 |
