Coin silver tea service. Made by Gorham & Thurber in Providence, Rhode Island, ca. 1850. This service comprises 1 teapot with cover, 1 sugar with cover, and 1 creamer.
Each: baluster body and floral foot ring with 4 loop supports. Teapot and creamer have scroll handle and sugar has 2 horizontal bracket handles. Teapot and creamer have dome cover with bud finial. Teapot has s-scroll spout entwined with flowers. Creamer has reeded rim with wide lip spout. A controlled and elegant design with contrasting stippling. Very rare.
