George III sterling silver covered 2-handled trophy cup. Made by Gustavus Byme in Dublin in 1809-13. Baluster body with scrolled-bracket side handles, short stem, and raised circular foot. Dome cover has ball finial. Engraved ornament: fruiting grapevine at rim, alternating leaves and triangles at base, reeding and guilloche on foot, and scrolled foliage on cover. On one side is coat of arms with motto “Faire Sans Dire.” Hallmark includes date letters for 1809 (cup) and 1813 (cover). Excellent condition.
