Edwardian sterling silver jewelry box. Made by John Chatellier, ca 1915, for Tiffany & Co. in New York. Box has straight sides. Cover curved and hinged with tapering tab and central rectangular tablet (vacant) applied to center. Box has wrap-around ornament: plain stripes alternating with fine and dense engraved lines. Same pattern runs horizontally on cover. Box and cover interior lined with green velvet. Detachable tray with same. Hallmark includes maker’s and retailer’s marks as well as no. 1023/604. Very good condition with crisp corners and nice patina. Noticeable wear to tray.
