ANTIQUE SILVER BREAD & BUTTER PLATES KIRK CIRCA 1880

This is a beautiful set of sixteen sterling silver bread and butter plates by the renowned Baltimore silversmiths Samuel Kirk & Son in a timeless floral pattern. Each small circular plate has a plain field with a wide circular rim elaborately decorated with chased and repousséd flowers and leaves. Like all of Kirk’s decoration it has a three-dimensional quality and texture that is exceptional. Each plate is in excellent condition and is the finest quality heavy gauge silver. Each measures approx. 6 1/4” in diameter, and together weigh approx. 65 troy ounces. Each is marked under the base with the maker’s mark of S. Kirk & Son, the word Sterling, and pattern number 127. This gorgeous set of antique silver bread and butter plates would make a charming compliment to any place setting. A wonderful gift for newlyweds!
