| This heart shaped pierced dish is typical of the group of decorative objects produced by William Comyns in the late 19th and early 20th century. Comyns line of decorative objects included boxes and dressing table sets, desk accessories and decorative yet functional tableware such as this beautifully pierced dish. This dish is of heart shape, the body pierced with daisy motif, with 4 chased and repousse sections of heart form scrolls, the rim with applied cast and chased border of scrolling flower heads, plain solid center, the whole raised on openwork cast scroll and floral frame form base.
