This is a large and elegantly simple Desk from the beginning of the 20th century, typical Parisian, made from a beautifully patinaed mahogany and accented with cast bronze ormolus and escutcheons, topped by its original greenish leather trimmed by gold leaf borders depicting interlaced foliate and acanthus patterns. Note that the large working area can be extended thanks to a pair of pull out leaves located on each end. The belt is also very convenient and is offering 3 drawers with keys to store document. The pediment consists of gracefully turned legs. Note some scratches and dents here and there and that the leather is in used condition. Circa date 1900. Dimensions 30 ½"high/ 70 ½"wide/ 100"wide with leaves out/ 35"deep. | |||||||||||
