This is a stunning and beautifully accented Commode, commonly called “Sauteuse” by the French due to its high cabriole legs. This rare and very nice Rococo commode is made from a lovely patinaed walnut by the second half of the 19th century, highlighted by its original Cherry Griotte Marble, which has been repaired at some point, originally coming from Herault in the South of France, sitting upon the gorgeous bombe façade featuring a total of 3 drawers mounted with their original bronze handles and embellished with floral and acanthus patterns. Note minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 44”high/ 50”wide/ 23”deep.
