This is an adorable stool made by the end of the 19th century from painted beech, consisting of a square seat covered by a floral needlepoint supported by a straight apron accented by raie de cour pattern, all supported by tapered turned legs adorned with acanthus leaves and connected to each other thanks to a graceful X-shaped stretcher highlighted by a finial. Note the upholstery is in used condition and several scratches and chips can be seen on the frame due to the age. Circa date 1890. Dimensions 17"high/ 17"wide/ 17"deep. | |||||||||||
