This is a magnificent inlaid Commode, originally coming from Paris, made by the second half of the 19th century and directly inspired by the Louis XVI style approximately a century earlier. This elegantly simple piece is topped by its original French Black marble sitting upon a slightly bombe façade featuring an upper drawer highlighted with inlaid fluted patterns above a pair of bottom drawers sans-traverse accented with quarter veneer. This commode is boasting rosewood, mahogany, ebony and cypress veneers. The pediment is consisting of a pair of slightly scrolled cabriole legs mounted with bronze sabots and a pair of straight back legs. Some scratches and dents can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 35"high/ 51"wide/ 22 ½"deep.
