|This a tremendously large Bookcase, commonly called Bibus by the French (Bookcase with no doors), made by the first quarter of the 20th century and combining walnut and pine for an appealing result, directly inspired of the Napoleon III era less than a century earlier. This massive piece of furniture is topped by a flat molded cornice sitting upon the step front facade slightly embellished with acanthus patterns from the upper frieze to the pediment. Due to its size, a very large display area with 4 shelves (including the base) is provided. This piece was actually part of a boiserie and built originally inside a wall, the back panels were added by the previous owner. Note several minor scratches and dents can be seen all around due to the age. Circa date 1930. Dimensions 94 ˝”high/ 90”wide with crown/ 84”wide (body)/ 24”deep.|
