This is a large and splendid Miroir à parecloses as called by the French, made by the second half of the 19th century and directly inspired of the Louis XVI era approximately a century earlier. This fantastic piece is boasting an impressive embellishment from the pierced carved wreath cartouche flanked by olive tree branches, indicating an origin from the south of France, above the intricately adorned frame, accented with acanthus and half sunflower patterns with a beautiful pierced tied ribbon at the base. Note the central mirror pane is not original and been replaced at some point. Minor scratches can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 54 ½”high/ 39”wide .|
