This is an elegantly simple Bed made from cherry by the end of the 18th century during the Directoire period (era following the French revolution from 2 November 1795 until 10 November 1799). This attractive looking bed consists of similar Head and Footboard, accented with flowerhead and finials connected to each other by straight rails. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen all around due to the age. Note the previous owner reinforced the rails for sturdiness. Circa date 1795. Dimensions 45”high 78”long/ 39”deep. Mattress Size: 74”long x 36”wide.
