|This is a massive and beautiful Armoire made from solid oak by the beginning of the 19th century and originally coming from Württemberg, actually the Kingdom of Württemberg that existed from 1806 to 1918, located in the area that is now Baden-Württemberg. Ruled during this period by Frederick I and part of the Confederation of the Rhine (A confederation of client states of the First French Empire of Napoleon). It is not surprising to feel the French influence on this magnificent and elegantly simple piece with Chapeau de Gendarme cornice sitting upon a straight facade with a pair of arched paneled doors revealing a spacious storage compartment with shelves, all standing on the pediment below offering additional storage thanks to a pair of drawers. Minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1810. Dimensions 95”high/ 63”wide (Crown)/ 59”wide (Body) /21”deep.|
