This is a majestic Armchair made from solid and exquisitely patinaed walnut during the Renaissance revival period by the second half of the 19th Century. This splendid piece consists of a tall rectangular back standing above a large and comfortable seat flanked by elegantly scrolled armrest adorned with acanthus patterns, all supported by nicely turned feet on craw feet, connected to each other by an X-shaped stretcher providing stability and sturdiness. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen on the frame due to the age. The upholstery is estimated to be less than a decade old and in overall good condition. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 46"high/ 18½"seat height/ 26½"wide/ 23"deep.
